2011 was absolutely amazing. I have the best clients and am so grateful for the chance to document each and every one of you. Looking back, I have to pick out a few of my favorites. Here are my top 10, okay 11 or 12, favorite wedding images in no particular order.

Anna and Altan during the ceremony. Very powerful.

I love this unity candle shot from Lauren and Trevor's wedding.

Anna Maria and Norris giggled and laughed the WHOLE time. This shot really captures how happy they are! And I'm kind of obsessed with AM's veil, which she made herself!!

I'm in love with the lighting in this image from Cynthia and John's wedding.

There's something great about Emily's mom and sister being the only ones helping her get ready in this cute rustic room. Very simple.

Who doesn't love screaming kiddos in a wedding?!

I love this not only because Morgan is one of my besties, but I think their expressions are so sweet during their first dance as Mr. and Mrs.

Kate is beautiful. Enough said.

I LOVE Jamie's dress, her parasol and the soft light in this shot. Perfect couple.

Another fave from Morgan and Boyer's ceremony. This is such a sweet moment and I love all of their family and friends around them.

Jaclyn and Andrew's wedding was stunning. I love this portrait of them in the vineyards at Veritas.

And finally, a party shot. All the guests at Christy and Joel's wedding rockin out to their awesome band! So fun!

It is so difficult to narrow down the THOUSANDS of wedding images from this year- I had a blast at each wedding this year and am super excited for 2012!! Thanks everyone, and Happy New Year!!

Emily and Will had such a fun wedding last night!! It was set in the beautiful mountains of Lexington, VA and the weather was absolutely perfect. They are very outdoorsy, which was reflected in all of their details of this farm wedding. We even went on a little hike, walked through a creek, and climbed up in an old barn for the portrait time - Emily was a trooper to do all of this in her wedding dress :)

Emily's family is from western PA, so her dad welcomed Will to the family by giving him a terrible towel

"Hi Jamie,

I just wanted to thank you for your work on Saturday and over the past year! You’ve been so easy to work with from the very beginning always taking the time to promptly answer any questions through e-mail and always being on right on time for our first meeting, engagement photos, and the wedding!

Being photographed by you is like having one of your girlfriends take your picture; you’re easy going, light hearted, and fun! I was very nervous before our engagement pictures because I don’t really like having my picture taken, but after a few minutes, I realized it was not going to be a big deal and the hour really flew by! I think we were really able to relax and just be ourselves and the end result was countless photos that we absolutely love.

At our wedding, I was so pleased by how short the “posed picture time” was. I was able to catch the end of my cocktail hour, even though there was a twenty minute drive from the church to the reception site. My attendants were also able to experience the hour which was really important to us. Later, I was amazed at how unassuming your presence was. I have definitely been at our weddings where the photographer was pushy and very noticeable – interrupting people dancing and even stopping the ceremonial processions for pictures! You were the complete opposite and I know that this hasn’t compromised the details of the pictures or the story of our wedding.

In the end, a lot went wrong on our wedding day, but you were fantastic and picking you to be our photographer was hands down one of the best wedding decisions we made!

We can’t wait to see the rest of the photos!

I decided to take the afternoon off today (a BIG perk of owning your own business, btw), and meet up with some girlfriends who all have babies, ranging in age from three weeks to three years. If you saw an army of strollers coming at you on the Downtown Mall today, it was us.

Keira and I went to my parents house for dinner last night. It turned into an evening with lots of photo ops (of course). First, my parents have two Basset Hounds, Frank and Tina, who are oh so photogenic!

I had an amazing morning. I spent a couple of hours at UVA Hospital's NICU and PICU units doing family portraits for some of the patients. Some of the babies were better, some were worse, but there was absolutely nothing but love and hope in each of the rooms. It makes me very thankful for the health of my child- I could never imagine being in those parents shoes. I am so lucky to be able to give this gift to these families. Thank you.
